About Us

In 1998, Nicole Ponseca launched her Filipino food business by researching the history of Filipino food including recipes, stories, legacies, influences, provinces, kusineros and immigration. From her travels and research, she launched dinners out of her Brooklyn apartment, where she experimented with casual gatherings frequented by strangers connected by heritage or curiosity. The experiments flourished into what became one of the first ever pop-ups (2007), three brick-and-mortars (2011-Present) and an award-winning cookbook (2019). Jeepney Filipino doesn’t mind going in headfirst into ideas and new territory, so long as it is equipped with knowledge, teamwork and respect. We are glad you’re here. Are you hungry?
